Airfal International donates 115 luminaires for the new elderly residence of the Rey Ardid Foundation in Teruel, Spain. The Lighting manufacturer donates one of the latest models included in the catalogue, the Mirror LED luminaire, a residential model designed for almost any application.
Airfal International has donated 115 Mirror LED luminaires for the retirement home that the Rey Ardid Foundation is building in Teruel. This gift is one more action under the Social Responsibility Plan carried out by the Aragonese company, highly committed with the people with intellectual disabilities.
The residence is being built on a plot of land owned by the Rey Ardid Foundation, and the builder is also a Foundation with a social purpose. Although the construction is already well advanced, the Foundation hopes to open the doors of the residence at the beginning of next year 2019.
The Residence will have capacity for 130 residents and although it was founded with a private status, anyone will be able to have access. The Foundation does not discard to make arrangements with the Aragonese Institute of Social Services.
Airfal, close partner of the Rey Ardid Foundation
This is not the first time that Airfal International has made this type of donation to this or another entity. In 2014, Airfal donated almost €10,000 of various luminaires to the Ramón Rey Ardid Foundation. In addition, Airfal donates 2% of its profits annually to Atades Huesca.
Airfal collaborates closely with the King Ardid Foundation, as it has had an Occupational Workshop inside its own facilities for more than 8 years, where around 8 users with intellectual disabilities and a supervisor from the Foundation come to work every day. This is a very important step for the social and labour inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities, an area in on which Airfal International is very focused. In addition to this workshop, there is also a work enclave of the Picarral Foundation within the company’s facilities.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Plan, Airfal collaborates with 9 other entities dedicated to working with people with intellectual disabilities. These foundations have occupational workshops to which semi-finished high rotation luminaires are sent for final assembly.
Airfal’s Social Responsibility is something that is in its DNA, since since the beginnings of the company more than 30 years ago, it began to collaborate with different foundations. Throughout the years, the good results that resulted from these actions consolidated and become a fundamental part of the company, as well as the pride of its workers.
The Mirror LED Luminaire
The luminaire chosen for this donation is the Mirror LED model, one of the latest incorporations to the 2018 catalogue. This is a model with LED modules, pre-lacquered steel and opal polycarbonate diffuser. It has an IP44 watertightness, perfect for installation in residential areas such as corridors, toilets or furniture that requires lighting, as its small size make it perfect for almost any location.
Thanks to the use of the latest LED technologies, this luminaire is very efficient. In addition, its long service life, ease of installation and low maintenance make this luminaire a very economical model.
