The Parque Madrid Río is located in the centre of the Spanish capital and is a leisure area for all Madrid residents. This pedestrian zone was built thanks to the burial of the M-30’s western arch between 2006 and 2011 and is a link between different emblematic points of the city such as the Parque de la Arganzuela or the La Latina neighbourhood. The Compact model from the Airfal catalogue was used in the construction of this park, a high quality and watertight luminaire. It also has an IK10, the highest degree of impact protection applicable to luminaires. It offers a wide range of possibilities thanks to its small dimensions, maintaining an excellent IP67 tightness. The project has been awarded in 2016 with the Veronica Rudge Award from Harvard University for its social and cultural impact as well as for its design.
