Our ATEX-certified luminaires are designed to safely illuminate hazardous areas whether caused by gas or dust. Their function is not only to provide lighting, but also to prevent the luminaire itself from becoming a source of ignition, thereby maintaining a high level of control and safety in the facility.

Frequently Asked Questions about ATEX Luminaires
ATEX luminaires require regular surface cleaning to prevent dirt from accumulating and to ensure optimum performance. In the case of certain ATEX LED luminaires, proper cleaning is particularly important to guarantee maximum safety and efficiency.
To purchase Airfal ATEX lighting or luminaires for explosive atmospheres, a prior technical selection must be made according to the zone classification and environmental conditions. You can request technical advice and a personalised quotation from our team to ensure that the proposed solution is suitable and properly certified.
Within the Airfal range, flameproof luminaires mainly belong to the Pyros family, including models such as Pyros, Pyros LED, I-Pyros LED and Pyros Block. These products are designed with “Ex d” protection to contain internal explosions. These ATEX luminaires are particularly suitable for Zones 1 and 21, where the highest level of safety is required for lighting in explosive atmospheres.
Airfal applies all its experience in the manufacture of ATEX-certified luminaires to every product. ATEX certification means that the luminaire has undergone a complete certification process, ensuring that it will operate safely and effectively in ATEX environments in accordance with the required tests and standards. This enables us to provide products designed for the most demanding environments, including flameproof lighting required by certain industries.
Yes. Although ATEX luminaires are designed for extreme environments such as explosive atmospheres, they can also be used in non-hazardous areas. However, the opposite is not permitted: non-certified luminaires cannot be used in ATEX zones.
