Gas Zone 1 Luminaires

SOLUCIONES ATEX

We are specialists in ATEX and high technical specification environments

The ATEX atmosphere corresponding to Zone 1 applies to areas where flammable gases or vapours may be present, such as petrol stations, chemical plants, paint booths or solvent storage facilities, among others. In this case, an explosive atmosphere is likely to form under normal operating conditions.

At Airfal, we offer lighting solutions (luminaires and floodlights) specifically designed for this environment, ensuring the highest required level of safety.

Gas Zone 1 Luminaires

ATEX: Gas Zone 1

An explosive atmosphere is a mixture with air, under atmospheric conditions, of flammable substances in the form of gases, vapours, mist or dust in which, after ignition, combustion spreads to the entire unburned mixture.

Many substances can form an explosive atmosphere. Examples include gases (natural gas, butane, propane, acetylene, etc.), liquids (fuels, solvents, oils, paints, etc.) and solids (wood, coal, cereal grains, metal dust). Therefore, many facilities and activities must be assessed in accordance with applicable regulations.

There are two types of ATEX atmospheres: explosive gas atmospheres and explosive dust atmospheres.

When classifying zones, the relevant international standards and the parameters of the substances capable of creating these atmospheres must be taken into account. This makes it possible to classify the location based on the characteristics of the substances present in the facility.
